“It seems to me that the good life is not any fixed state. […] The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” -Carl Rogers

About Me and my practice

Healing can be difficult and sometimes painful, but you don’t have to do it alone. I believe everyone has the innate ability to heal. Growth is possible for everyone, no matter what the challenges or circumstances are in your life. Let’s work to uncover that which is impacting your ability to have a fulfilling and meaningful life.

My (conscious) healing journey began at age 30 years old when I began my personal recovery from drugs and alcohol. Through my own personal therapy and with 12 step community support, I was able to find recovery, healing and growth. Eventually my recovery led me on a path to a place where I was able to work through all of the shame, guilt, trauma, and pain that I had lived with for so long. Today, my life is led by my devotion and deep appreciation for healing and is filled with a deep sense of inner peace, gratitude, compassion and love. Those things and so much more await you on the other side of your own healing and recovery journey.

There are many paths to your healing and recovery, and together we can move toward wellbeing and wholeness together. I utilize both traditional talk therapies and somatic (body based) therapies in my practice. These practices can help you to uncover barriers to your full potentiality, and to help re-discover your true essence and to continue to discard that which is no longer serving you in your life.

My Specializations

Other areas I treat…

  • Self Esteem

Some of us were raised in a family and cultural system that taught us that we needed to do or to be a certain way, or to accomplish something in order to feel worth or to be acknowledged. There is nothing wrong with wanting or needing self-esteem but when our entire sense of self-worth is dependent on it, then no matter what we do or accomplish, we will still feel the need to do more. Through the process of integrating self-compassion, we can fill in those areas in yourself and your life that feel lacking or less than.

  • Stress

We live in a fast paced, overwhelming and stressful world. Our nervous system was designed to alert us to the dangers and obstacles of life but it often becomes overworked and overstressed due to the demands of current life. Learn how to resent the nervous system and to bring more calm and relaxation to yourself.

  • Coping skills

Unlike the famous book, there are things that I needed in life that I did not learn in kindergarten. We all have behaviors or patterns in our life that are challenging and areas in our life where we desire improvement. Together we can identify and practice the skills that you are waning to improve or develop, from communication to emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a confidential space for personal growth. In one-on-one sessions, individuals discuss thoughts and feelings while receiving support. This process helps clients gain insights, develop coping strategies, and create plans for positive change. Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or personal growth, therapy fosters self-understanding and resilience, enhancing overall well-being.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy offers a safe space for partners to examine relationship dynamics, improve communication, and resolve conflicts. This approach helps identify underlying issues, enhance emotional connections, and develop strategies for challenges. It fosters understanding and growth, guiding partners toward a healthier relationship.

Group Therapy

Group therapy offers a supportive space for individuals to share experiences and emotions with others facing similar challenges. Participants can explore personal issues, gain insights, and develop coping skills through discussions and activities. This collaborative approach fosters community and reduces feelings of isolation. By listening to one another, individuals enhance self-understanding, build resilience, and work toward personal growth and healing.

“Working through trauma can teach us so much wisdom and can reveal the beauty of our existence that, because of trauma, we had lost sight of.”

— Gabor Maté

More about my process:

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.”- Pema Chödrön

There are no coincidences on this path. If you have found my website, there is something within that has guided you here. It is my personal belief that no matter what you are going through or experiencing in your life, healing is available and possible. In fact, healing is an integral and natural part of life itself. Our work together will help you to look at what conscious or unconscious barriers are impacting and impeding this process and uncover ways to better facilitate the healing you are looking for.

It is also my opinion and belief, that deep down we truly know what we are needing or what we are looking for. The work I do is centered around getting in touch with that intuitive and authentic part of self, sorting through all the stories, beliefs, and forces that aren’t allowing for that process to happen. You are the expert in your own life and journey. My work isn’t to tell you what to do or how to do it, but rather to witness, reflect and help guide you toward your truth and authentic self…toward your true essence and being.
